How we count commitments
The replenishment dashboard publishes documented, approved records only. Nothing is estimated, projected or modelled.
Definitions
Every record has one status
- Expression of interest
- An indication of possible future participation. Never counted toward the goal and never published as a commitment.
- Commitment pending documentation
- A stated intention awaiting a signed letter, agreement or board resolution. Held internally only.
- Documented commitment
- A commitment supported by documentation and verified by the secretariat. Counted internally.
- Approved for public announcement
- A documented commitment the partner has authorised us to publish. Only these records appear on the public dashboard.
- Received contribution
- Funds actually received. Reported separately from commitments so the two are never conflated.
Counting rules
What is included in the total
- Financial commitments only. Financial commitments, corporate philanthropy, employee giving and matching gifts count toward the goal. In-kind support, technology, healthcare, education, humanitarian, climate and strategic partnerships are recognised but excluded from the monetary total.
- Conference sponsorship is separate. Sponsorship supports the event and is never added to the replenishment total, nor does it confer influence over grant decisions.
- No double counting. A commitment supporting several priority areas or SDGs is counted once in the total. Distribution views apportion the amount across the areas it supports for illustration only.
- Currency conversion. Commitments may be recorded in any currency. Each record stores the original amount, the reporting-rate USD equivalent and the rate date used. Reporting currency is USD.
- Multi-year commitments. Recorded with their full value and their disbursement period, so the period is always visible alongside the amount.
- Partner control. Name, logo, amount and statement are each published only where the partner has granted permission. Partners may participate anonymously or by category.

The $1 billion figure is a proposed replenishment goal for 2027–2030 and does not represent funds raised, pledged, committed or secured. Contributions are not tied to benefits, and participation does not confer influence over grant decisions.
